1. Ask how they came to know it is faulty
2. Verify the last 12 months electricity bill units consumed
3. If it varies by 10 to 20% it is not defective
4. Ask the electric company to give in writing how they know it is effective?
If electric meters are really defective
1. Ask them to give in writing
2. Inform them to install only electronic meters without TOD facility and remote reading
3. Section and provision in Electricity act not to replace electronic meters with smart meters
4. Section in Electricity act to destroy the electronic meters removed.
5. Section in Electricity act which gives no option to consumers and forces smart meters.
6. What is being done with electronic meters removed and it's adverse effect on the environment.
Most important after spending 3 lacs crores there is no reduction in cost per unit transferred to consumers
In short it is loot fraud and cheating
