This is false. No police can force consumers to install smart meters.
Police has no jurisdiction and can be prosecuted for any force.
So first lock your meter box.
Inform police that the electric company is
a. illegaly entering your premises without permission and without notice giving time and date.
b. Not issued notice u/s 171of electricity act to every consumer not society. You can prosecute the society who has illegally allowed the installation of smart meters without the consumer consent.
c. No law under electricity act to issue notice to society as society does not pay bill and consumer pays bill
c. Electricity act section 55: No proof that smart meter is correct meter. The certification from Metrology dept not provided that the meters is tested, sealed and correct.

d. False information that it is free of cost. As cost shall be recovered from ARR submitted before MERC.
( Cognizable offences Forgery, making of incorrect documents, using it as genuine for purpose of cheating)
e. Electricity supply code 8.2 & 8.3 states the electricity company shall take permission inform date and time take consent before entering your premises. ( Cognizable offences tresspassing and theft of electronic meters)
f. Electricity code supply and installation of meters states that electricity meter shall be fixed in presence of consumers.
g. Section 53 electricity act: protecting public. No study of
radiation effect,
Environment effect
Correctness of meter reading
Fire resistant or spreading endangering life
Illeffect on health, hygiene
Storage, transport and destruction of working good condition electronic meters
h. Section 47(5) electricity act: person should be prepared to install prepaid meters

Monopoly of smart meters
No competition
No reduction of cost per unit after spending lacs of crores
No benefit: charges shall be recovered from ARR and government subsidies i.e. tax payer
Making false statements that it is free of cost.
J . Section 56 of electricity act: Disconnection only for non payment of bill
Not for replacement of good working condition electronic meters.

M. BEST, adani, TATA,torrent, MSEDCL do not fall under category of state owned units. Hence cannot fall under RDSS scheme.

N. All the above companies distribution losses are much below 15%. Hence do not fall under RDSS SCHEME
Many more legal points which can never allow any electricity company to install smart meters.
